the baby goldfish look like goldfish

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Kokubunji, 2024.04.30

The babies, now three weeks old, no longer look like fry but rather like tiny goldfish. All of a sudden, they have silver skin covering their heads and there's enough on the bodies that you can no longer see all their internal organs and bones and so on. Also, it looks like the dots they all seem to have on their heads are merging into a colored patch as both of their parents had at one time.

They're also now eating frozen daphnia in addition to the brine shrimp. At some point soon I'll put them only on the latter, though of course its much more expensive.

It's been taking me about two hours a days to do all the water changes plus raising the brine shrimp. We haven't had any deaths in two weeks now, which is amazing. They all *seem* to be in great health, though of course that could change in a heartbeat if a disease gets into the crowded bin. Here's hoping everything will continue to go well.
