broken heater plug

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Kokubunji, 2024.02.12

While cleaning the aquarium, something went wrong as I was reassembling the cannister filter and water began to pool on the wooden floor. I jumped up a little too quickly to get towels and tore the electric plug for the large room-heater out of the wall, breaking it. It's still February, and we're without our main heater (aside from the A/C unit built into the ceiling). The silver lining on this storm cloud: the weather's suddenly gotten unusually warm.

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.
