movie review - Deadstream

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Kokubunji, 2023.10.02

This is a "found footage" movie about a live streamer who decides to spend a night in a haunted home. His interactions with his fans make for an interesting twist as he's inevitably torn apart by the very real ghosts, as they can explain things to him like how to make warding sigils. It was good for a laugh despite its purposefully staying in the very well-worn treads of many such horror movies.

Recommended.

rand()m quote

I'd see the publicity guy come on the set and I'd go hide in the rafters. The crew would be like, ‘I haven't seen him.' And then they'd leave and I'd go back to work. Because that's what's fun: the doing, not the talking.
