working under every kind of lag

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Kokubunji, 2023.07.24

I've recently flown to the Netherlands and to British Columbia and my brain and body seem to be in broad disagreement. Three hundred emails need my attention it would seem, and I have more live chats in Teams than I care to count. I guess that's one way to distract yourself.

Three good things that happened today:

  1. It wasn't 900 emails as it would have been two years ago
  2. It's only eight hours of lag, not twelve like Toronto
  3. Now I can apply for a new passport before the current one expires

Three reasons to be thankful:

  1. I do not need what I haven't got
  2. The family isn't over being glad to see me
  3. My surrogate seems to have done well without me

Racism isn't born, folks, it's taught. I have a two-year-old son. You know what he hates? Naps! End of list.
