movie review - Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Kokubunji, 2023.05.13

This is an animated flick about a scrawny young dog who dreams of being a samurai. No one takes him seriously, but when a town is threatened by a gang of bandits he may be their only hope. Sort of.

I liked the ludicrously nasty villain, the supporting cast, the shlep of a 'hero', and the various character arcs that they exhibit. There's an arguable heel-face-turn, two redemption stories, etc.

Recommended. Great for "movie night" or one of those switch-off evenings.

Capitalist production, therefore, only develops the techniques and the degree of combination of the social process of production by simultaneously undermining the original sources of all wealth – the soil and the worker.
