movie review - The Man From Toronto
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
This is a movie in which Kevin Hart plays the diminutive comic relief and someone capable of maintaining a scowl plays the heavy. They team up to some purpose and annoy the hell out of each other en route.
In this case the game is freelance assassination and the stakes are high. Nothing here is meant to be consistent or represent the final word in story telling, but it achieves and maintains a certain tone and balance that works. It's exactly what you might need on an evening toward the latter half of the week when the bastards have ground you down.
Recommended.
