movie review - Central Intelligence

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Kokubunji, 2022.06.22

This is a movie in which Kevin Hart plays the diminutive comic relief and someone capable of maintaining a scowl plays the heavy. This time, the heavy is Dwayne Johnson, and the genre is Spy. It's mostly innocuous faire in which we of course see Kevin Hart toughening up and rise to the occasion. But I didn't find the chemistry between the leads terribly convincing, and the story is not helped much by some predictable turns of events.

Not recommended.

rand()m quote

Selfish leaders increase risk by placing themselves first. It's a fundamental mistake to assume that what is good for us personally is mutually exclusive to what is good for everyone. That kind of zero-sum game is for cowards, and in the end, we all pay the price for this type of latent, toxic leadership.
