first night with the window open

twenty-seven years and one million words

I slept with the window open last night for the first time this year. I've been a bit worried about mosquitos in this place because of the single-pane glass and the poor fit of the screen windows (not to mention gaps between floor and walls!) but at this point in the season those ladies are still sipping nectar and aren't brewing babies so they leave us alone.
We do have rather a lot of ants, mind you.
