migraine journal
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
I went to see my neurologist again today. It'd been a month since I was on an upped dosage of the prophylactic daily medication she's put me on. I had to report that I'd had a terrible run during the two months I was taking the stuff, and had eventually stopped because of the side-effects: exhaustion, weight gain, etc.
The good news is that she's taken an interest in my migraine journal from 2017, when I recorded all of my headaches along with the date, a possible cause, the medication I took, etc. So I've resumed that journal and made some statistics. It turns out that the headaches are at their most rare on Friday and Saturday, then highest on Sunday and then down again on Monday but steadily climbing all week to Thursday which is second highest. Obviously this doesn't play out this way every week, but it's striking.
