teaching photography

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Tokyo, 2020.07.27

The Girl has taught me something about teaching photography, as she learns. While I was pleased that she's learned how f-stops work, and how different lenses work, and about taking videos, it was her that taught me that I had to remember to mention things such as turning a camera on its side for a different type of view.

She's taken to using the strap on the camera very nicely, and uses a camera bag well. She handles the (expensive for us) gear with respect, and is interested in photo editing.

rand()m quote

It's difficult in times like these: ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us, only to be crushed by grim reality. It's a wonder I haven't abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical. Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.
