man those CIA exams were hard

twenty-seven years and one million words
During the chat with my direct boss this past week about my "promotion" some interesting things emerged. We actually spent more time talking about the "certified internal auditor" exams than we did on the promotion. One thing that he told me was that during his struggles with the finance side of those exams (definitely a challenge for me as well) he went to the actuaries and financial accountants at the life insurance firm to discuss some of the matters. They told him that the content appeared to have come from the CFA curriculum. They thought it was beyond the expected scope and difficulty of such a cert.
I always wondered if those CIA exams were unreasonably difficult. I still remember the shell shock from that last exam.
