movie review - El Camino Christmas

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2019.09.28

This is a story of a young man who goes out in search of his estranged father. Things don't go according to plan, and the whole mess culminates in a hostage situation in a liquor shop. The flick's got lots of colorful characters, a pleasant setting, and a police force that must surely be the envy of every small town in North America.

In tone and timing, this movie reminded me of Raising Arizona from way back in the '80s. I enjoyed it. Recommended.

rand()m quote

A civilization is a heritage of beliefs, customs, and knowledge slowly accumulated in the course of centuries, elements difficult at times to justify by logic, but justifying themselves as paths when they lead somewhere, since they open up for man his inner distance.
