movie review - Office Space
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
I watched this again after several years, and I think I've belatedly come to realize that this movie had quite an effect on me when I first saw it twenties years ago. Specifically, I suspect it had a part in kicking my butt to start doing something more with my life than paying the bills. Because within a year I was living on the other side of the world.
Anyway, it's taken on something of cult status over the years but I think it's actually better than I first appreciated. It's not without its dead weight but it so perfectly captures so much of what's wrong with work culture that I'm very glad it's out there prompting 28-year-olds to move to Australia.
A favorite. Strongly recommended.
