movie review - The Jackal

twenty-seven years and one million words

To catch an international assassin, the police employ an imprisoned IRA agent. In a story that ranges across the world (there's even a scene spent sailing lake Michigan) the game of cat and mouse continues while the authorities try to prevent the assassination of a prominent US politician.
It's a bit dated, and I think it being a foregone conclusion that they catch "The Jackal" is a bit too obvious. There are some clever scenes but for the most part it's formulaic and unoriginal.
Not recommended.
