movie review - The Jackal

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2019.04.20

To catch an international assassin, the police employ an imprisoned IRA agent. In a story that ranges across the world (there's even a scene spent sailing lake Michigan) the game of cat and mouse continues while the authorities try to prevent the assassination of a prominent US politician.

It's a bit dated, and I think it being a foregone conclusion that they catch "The Jackal" is a bit too obvious. There are some clever scenes but for the most part it's formulaic and unoriginal.

Not recommended.

When the world is in accord with the Dao, fast horses are left to fertilize fields. When the world is not in accord with the Dao, war horses are bred in the countryside.
