big rainbow trout on Toronto's waterfront

twenty-seven years and one million words
As I was riding home tonight I saw one of the regular anglers on our stretch of the waterfront. He recognized me and called out that he'd caught a rainbow trout. I braked and came around to talk to him. It was a 5-6 pound monster, which is the first time I've heard of such a feat anywhere on Toronto's waterfront. He happily told me the whole story, and it turned out that he caught it in ~50cm of water while looking for black crappie, and that it took multiple casts after an initial suspicious bite. Way to go, John!
