movie review - Midnight Run

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2018.04.17

This is a buddy movie in which a tough bounty hunter and a skittish accountant are thrust together by circumstances. The accountant's been working for the mob but skipped bail to flee his former employers and the authorities. Everyone else in the movie is either after the accountant or is a bystander.

I enjoyed the story, the friction/tension between the two leads, the dialog, and the overall vibe. It's very dated at this point but honestly I wouldn't mind seeing a remake.

Recommended.
