twenty-eight years and a million words

Toronto, 2018.03.20

Cycling to work today, my winter bike brown down: the cassette was spinning freely on the rear axle. Amazingly, I was able to get this repaired in about thirty minutes after work by my friends at Cyclepath Norco at Yonge & Eglinton. Now I'm spinning on a brand new el-cheapo 26" wheel that suits my el-cheapo 25-year-old bike to a T.

I popped into a hole in the wall just up the street to kill the time, and had a nice Turkish coffee. I also bought some olive oil and a chat with the proprietors about retail rents in the city. I have no idea how retail venues are making it work these days, I really have no idea.

rand()m quote

I feel fortunate that I enjoyed the blandishments of modernity. I had hip replacement and root canal. I was able to travel on airplanes. I was able to take cheap food for granted. I went to the movies. I enjoyed rock 'n' roll. And now I'm ready to move on.
