movie review - The Vault

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2018.01.30

This is a Horror movie dressed up as a robbery flick. It starts with some people being forced to rob a bank. They initially score half a million but are told by the bank manager that there's six million in the vault in the basement. When the robbers get in there, though, they find it populated with ghosts or ghouls or something of that sort. The entire thing feels a bit under-budgeted and while the bones of the thing are good the rest of the body hasn't really been fleshed out.

Not recommended.

Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.
