movie review - Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2018.01.18

This is a movie about a twentyish drop-out who meets a girl with some very strange dating requirements. Specifically, he has to defeat all of her exes in combat. It's even loopier than that sounds, but it's worth a watch. I enjoyed the frenetic weirdness and figured its being set in Toronto.

Recommended. For its off-beat plot, many quirky concepts, and the emotionally-satisfying story arc.

rand()m quote

I'd see the publicity guy come on the set and I'd go hide in the rafters. The crew would be like, ‘I haven't seen him.' And then they'd leave and I'd go back to work. Because that's what's fun: the doing, not the talking.
