Best. Tree. Ever

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2017.12.06

We skipped the expensive trees we've been getting in the Beaches, and got our best tree to date at a grocery store. It's perfect - with enough space between the branches for the baubles, a subtle but pleasant smell, and no mess - I doubt it's dropped twenty nettles in the past three days and you can touch it without getting sappy. And it was half the price of the "Kew" outfit we've been going to for the past six years.

rand()m quote

It's difficult in times like these: ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us, only to be crushed by grim reality. It's a wonder I haven't abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical. Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.
