movie review - Megamind

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2017.09.27

This is an animated kids movie featuring a super-villain as its central character. He triumphs over his arch-nemesis, a super-hero, but then finds life without challenge. So he decides to create a new super-hero to fight. He's even picked out a name: Titan. But the hapless fool he picks for the job wants no part of the job, or the name. But he likes the power and the trappings there-of. Calling himself "Tighten", he sets out to destroy the world, leaving Megamind to try to save it.

It's a clever story, the kids enjoyed it. The cast is great, the story's good, and I liked the originality and watching the prickly villain adjust to the hero's role.

Recommended.

The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans is suffering from some form of mental illness. Think of your three best friends. If they're okay, then it's you.
