Dropbox nuked my journal photos

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Toronto, 2017.09.06

Dropbox has decided to turn off public image sharing, even for their paying customers - reducing their value-add but not their price. Nice work if you can get it! What a shame that cloud shared-folder services are so rare and expensive. Oh, that's right, they're not. Dropbox.

rand()m quote

It has always seemed strange to me...The things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty, understanding and feeling, are the concomitants of failure in our system. And those traits we detest, sharpness, greed, acquisitiveness, meanness, egotism and self-interest, are the traits of success. And while men admire the quality of the first they love the produce of the second.

—John Steinbeck, Cannery Row
