good times

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2017.07.07

I had lunch with two colleagues who lost their jobs the same day I did. Happily, at the three month anniversary of that rainy day in April, both have landed new roles: one with a bank and the other with a software firm. We gorged on Lebanese and traded notes on our new roles.

Three reasons to be thankful:

  1. Good food,
  2. Good friends,
  3. Good times (and a very good time to be moving on)

In other news, it took me two hours to get home last night. Problems with my front brakes not once but twice. And no fewer than two flat tires! I'm losing confidence in the old set of patches I've been riding with – an unexpected down-side to having had so few flats over the past years.

rand()m quote

...and when you try to get some, it surely can be hard. There's always trouble waiting, when you leave your own back yard.

—Motorhead, Lost Johnny (lyrics by Mick Farren)
