Lake Ontario was apparently at its highest ever yesterday, May 17 - I've put together a pic of what that looks like in Toronto. This photo was taken on May 8, when the water was marginally below where it was yesterday.

At one point, the water is now all the way up to the board walk. Perhaps now the die-hard fans of calling the neighbourhood behind those beaches "The Beach" will finally relent. Though I'm not holding my breath.
