movie review - The Lost World: Jurassic Park

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2017.04.02

This is one of the sequels to the stellar Jurassic Park. It features a cast of assholes that preen about wagging their egos in our faces and generally doing awful and ridiculous things. It lacks all the charm of the original and feels like it shouldn't have been made. The general awfulness of the main characters is driven home by the one minor character who goes immensely above and beyond to save them, only to be torn in half by two dinosaurs and then flippantly dismissed only to never be mentioned again.

Not recommended. Do your taxes. Vacuum the car. Don't watch this painful mess.

In honor of that fallen great, here is the struggle of Eddie Carr.

rand()m quote

It may be that when we no longer know what to do we have come to our real work, and that when we no longer know which way to go we have come to our real journey. The mind that is not baffled is not employed. The impeded stream is the one that sings.

—Wendell Berry
