settling Australia

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2017.03.09

It looks like Australia's original settlers lived without mass warfare; an interesting break with the usual pattern of human history. Or so says this report. It's also interesting that a) it all happened 50,000 years ago, and b) just one group of migrants wound up settling an entire continent (well, it's lush periphery, anyway) in only 2,000 years.

Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you do criticize him, you'll be a mile away and have his shoes.
