the frozen driveway
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
Our steep driveway is covered in ice thanks to a new city policy towards meltwater and rainwater. As explained here, such water can't be directed to the sewer system. I get why that's necessary, but the owner's been left with no choice but to direct the water onto the driveway, where it's now of course frozen. So far, Mari's fallen and both the kids have slipped several times. It took Mari ten minutes to park the car, tonight, as well, and between the three families in our building, we've dumped at least four bags of salt on the drive, today.
What a mess!
