movie review - How to Train Your Dragon 2

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2015.04.16

This is a sequel to an animated movie that united Norsemen and dragons. The story continues in an extremely similar vein in this episode, with the same characters. This time, there's an outside threat that draws everyone together when a cave full of strange new types of dragon are discovered. As with the first, it's very well written and the characters are engaging. The plot works, and as before the animation and attention to detail are superb.

Recommended.

rand()m quote

It has always seemed strange to me...The things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty, understanding and feeling, are the concomitants of failure in our system. And those traits we detest, sharpness, greed, acquisitiveness, meanness, egotism and self-interest, are the traits of success. And while men admire the quality of the first they love the produce of the second.
