the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2015.03.09

I've finally ridden to work; a late start this year but it's good to be back on my bike. I was riding on the Martin Goodman trail and noticed that mine were not the only tracks on the patches of ice. My bike's parked in ten centimeters of snow, but the streets were clear of snow and ice, and not too bad with salt. None of the fair-weather cyclists (look who's talking) are anywhere near their bikes so it was fairly clear ride.

I can't wait to start burning off the winter flab.

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.
