it looks like "cybersecurity" is here to stay

the journal of Michael Werneburg

I'm not wild about the word "cybersecurity". It seems both dated (as much as I liked William Gibson's work, it's been quite a while) and like marketing-speak (and I say that despite the fact that I run a marketing function).

But it looks like the term is here to stay. Here's a comparison of Google's view of the populatrity of the word "cybersecurity" compared to "infosec" and "information risk". While the latter shows signs of strength, look at "cybersecurity" go! Dang it. Thanks again, media and vendors....

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.
