I went to Jacob's hardware for a set of combination wrenches for bike repair today; love that store. It's easily the "most hardware store" hardware store in city, if not the world. Creaking, beaten-up wooden floor-boards, a secret upper level where someone's doing the shipping and accounting, fellas working there who know where every screw and rivet is.
I've now got a wrench in my every day carry kit, and the remainder of a set of stubby wrenches at home. I don't know why I've always tried to rely on adjustable wrenches before, they're a nightmare.
