A cyclist was struck by a car a few blocks from where we live; it turns out that it was our city Councillor. I wrote to her, since we've crossed paths on a number of occasions, and she's reported that she'll be fine. The driver will be charged, which is a rarity.
The city's building cycle lanes, but they're only made of a line of paint on the street. Something else is required.
