don't drop the baby!

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Toronto, 2014.05.01

The other day, I nearly dropped our squirmy little girl on her head; when I caught her, her hair was already touching the floor. It was one of those things where she was trying to squeeze out of my arms. She's taken to feinting first in one direction then quickly reversing and throwing herself in a different direction as my forty-plus-year-old reactions attempt to respond to the first deke.

I hope she'll realize the folly of this kind of thing, but I have my doubts. Happily she's got lots of baby fat to grab hold of!

rand()m quote

For a long time I was very bitter that the people who controlled the means of anybody ever hearing my songs were never gonna play them. They only favored music that I specifically and particularly hated, and I wanted them dead. Suddenly, there was another avenue. I started hearing my stuff coming out of bars and then it started to happen little by little -- a movie song here or a TV ad there.
