Mari and the kids, gone for a month

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2014.04.02

Mari and the kids have been in Japan for the past month, and we had our final Skype chat tonight before they'd get on the plane. They spent part of Sunday (their time) at the beach, splashing around in the warm Philippine Sea. At the same time, I was cycling into a stiff east wind that was driving snow.

I don't know how they'll adjust to the 20°C temperature drop and the site of ice and snow in our back yard. I guess that's what they get for going somewhere warm. 8^)

Next up; horrible nights with a jetlagged toddler.

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.
