We're at the cottage, and it turns out that the waterfront's become infested with an invasive species called "phragmites". Supposedly impossibly to kill without anything short of tactical nuclear weapons (from orbit; it's the only way to be sure) but I'm going to try. I've got the scythe out of the basement.
