stuff getting cheaper (not everything)
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
In the midst of perpetually increasing costs of living, I've noticed that some things seem to be getting cheaper. One of those things is hosting services for websites and email and whatnot. These things used to cost a fortune, and you can now find development space in hosted environments for free (as long as you're not trying to route a domain name to it). Another example: the people who do the DNS hosting for the various websites I run have amalgamated their DNS and email services and what used to cost well north of $100 a year now costs $50.
Now if only the groceries, rent, and electricity bills had any bearing on reality.
