meeting an entrepreneur

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Toronto, 2013.08.09

Today after work I met with a whip-smart fellow who's uncovered a business opportunity and is designing a technology solution. The whole things is such a no-brainer that it's frankly amazing that no one has done this before. I love meeting with people who have a hot idea, particularly when they've reached that point where they have clients saying, "Shut up and take my money!"

Like Tokyo, Toronto is not a bad town to meet such people. But the vibe of the projects is sure different—Toronto's a definitely more utilitarian B2B affairs than the splashy mobile-related "Tokyo 2.0" stuff.

In one of history's more absurd acts of totalitarianism, China has banned Buddhist monks in Tibet from reincarnation without government permission.
