depressingly good photography

twenty-seven years and one million words

Today we went to the ROM to see a photography exhibit. The photog is SebastiĆ£o Salgado, his work covers everything from isolated tribes in the Amazon to vast penguin colonies in the Antarctic. It was so good that I found it a bit daunting. Why isn't there a single photo I could hang in a museum? I've been at it (OK, maybe "trying to keep up the hobby") for more than twenty years, and I've certainly read enough on the subject. I even (accidentally) had the better part of a year to devote to the work.
Ah well, supporting the family comes first.
