...and rained (so I tinkered with a vacuum cleaner)

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Toronto, 2012.08.10

It rained hard for two hours this morning; if we weren't caught up to the yearly average by yesterday, we are today.

We spent a part of the day trying to get our bought-in-Japan but sold universally* Electrolux vacuum cleaner fixed. No luck, so far. I've not had a lot of luck with the global Electrolux support operation to date; it cost a lot, I want it fixed. I'm beginning to think this might be a job for a screwdriver and some humming noises.

We ran errands again today, and happened upon a really good Vietnamese restaurant in Mississauga's "Golden Mile" area (of all places). It's called "Pho Saigon" but don't tell your friends, I don't want it getting too popular.

*To be had on a continent near you!

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
