soaked on my bike again

Yesterday, they forecast 20mm of rain and we had none; today "isolated showers" meant five hours of heavy rain.
Silly me, I believed them on both occasions, leaving my bike behind yesterday and then getting soaked and filthy on the way home today. Ah well, such is life.
One of my colleagues reminded me, "Little boys who lie grow up to be weathermen."
