moving is tough

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2012.02.15

It seems that the rental market in Toronto's gotten a lot tougher of late.

It may have been a gradual process over the past five or six years, but it's at the point now where we're only one party of several seeing any given property. And the prices!! I am not joking that anywhere with a reasonable commute in the city center is at around 3/4 of the price of something similar in Tokyo.

I'll say that again: the rental market in Toronto is closing with that of Tokyo. I am dumbfounded.

I think the search for a new apartment might have to go on an extended break.
