oh, USS Enterprise, say it ain't so

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Toronto, 2012.02.03

The Americans have just sailed the USS Enterprise into the Persian Gulf - this strikes me as odd.

The ship's 60 days from retirement, and they move it into position between Iran and Israel? They wouldn't, perhaps, be thinking that it might be effective to simply scuttle the thing and blame Iran for it?

Pity that it has eight nuclear power plants aboard. Let's hope nothing causes them to start leaking from the bottom of the Gulf.

There's no flag like a false flag....

rand()m quote

Society is indeed a contract... [the state] is a partnership in all science; a partnership in all art; a partnership in every virtue, and in all perfection. As the ends of such a partnership cannot be obtained in many generations, it becomes a partnership not only between those who are living, but between those who are living, those who are dead, and those who are to be born.

—Edmund Burke
