counting to ten

twenty-seven years and one million words

Kenny just counted the wheels on one of his toy trains and got all the way to ten without error. Yay! He didn't know "eleven" and "twelve", so when he got to ten he just wrapped around to "one" again.

I showed him that the next wheels should be "eleven" and "twelve" and that seemed a bit disruptive because the next time he counted, eleven and twelve were mixed in with the other numbers like "one, two, eleven, four, three, eight..."

But he's getting there!
