toronto's new streetcars
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
We went to see the open house for Toronto's new streetcars.
Kenny loved the mock-up car on display, a five-part monster fully 25% longer than even the double-length articulated cars they have today. The inside is much more modern than the existing cars, with a lot more room and better ability to move throughout the vehicle. Also, it supports the "new" electronic payment cards, which is a giant leap forward from having to have the driver negotiate every other payment.
And it seems that our visit got us on the news. We were briefly interviewed by someone from one of the TV networks who probably loved Kenny's adorability. Just now the girls from the apartment downstairs came running up to tell us - "You're on the TV!"
