sundays are for migraines

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Toronto, 2011.07.24

Staggered off the couch at around one with a left side headache that felt just like a day-long weather headache. And I was right.

Two cafergot, two colas (happily not "cokes"), and thirteen hours of vomiting and writhing in pain and I was out of bed again, more or less. Eventually drifted out the door around six and took in the last of the day and the last of the jazz festival (a latin outfit from NYC was on stage, and they were good). Fetched up ordering a gluten-free pizza and watching everyone head for home.

I bet a full third of the full-on migraines I've had have been on a Sunday.

rand()m quote

On the endless saga of Rob Ford, mayor of Toronto; "It shouldn't have had to come to this. I'm so tired of getting up every morning and wondering, 'What will it be today?' I'm so tired of giving the benefit of the doubt again and again, only to be let down again and again.... Somewhere a responsible adult has to appear, draw a bright moral line, tell the truth and say unequivocally what won't be tolerated. Somebody has to do the right thing."
