twenty-seven years and one million words

What a crap day. And yet, so much for which to be thankful.

I've been dealing with yet another migraine all day; I missed two calls from my stranded wife in part because none of my coworkers thought to take my phone to the next room where I was in a meeting; I had yet another set-back in my quest to achieve sanity at the office; my family's departure coincided with the shooting of the five year old in BC; and to end the day it turns out that one of my mother's closest friends is quite suddenly on chemotherapy (just five weeks back, she had not a symptom or hint of illness).

Taking it all in, some problems are serious but mine .. aren't. And hey, there's a new Torchwood to keep me company.

rand()m quote

Selfish leaders increase risk by placing themselves first. It's a fundamental mistake to assume that what is good for us personally is mutually exclusive to what is good for everyone. That kind of zero-sum game is for cowards, and in the end, we all pay the price for this type of latent, toxic leadership.
