google screw me again

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2011.06.14

I had a message from Google this morning telling me that they wanted to transition the account I pay for, to some new infrastructure. This is for my @emuu.net mail.

I clicked OK. And immediately I started getting warnings from them that my account was about to expire, that it was expiring, and then that it was gone.

Goodbye all @emuu.net mail (except stuff I'd archived from prior to May, 2010). If anyone's sent me something this fine AM, Google's killed it and I never saw it. 8(

Now I'm on a new email service.

rand()m quote

It has always seemed strange to me...The things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty, understanding and feeling, are the concomitants of failure in our system. And those traits we detest, sharpness, greed, acquisitiveness, meanness, egotism and self-interest, are the traits of success. And while men admire the quality of the first they love the produce of the second.

—John Steinbeck, Cannery Row
