An old friend missed a lunch today because his employer's email system badly delayed his inbound mail.
This is a problem I've noticed is becoming more and more frequent of late, with a variety of small and even large firms. Somewhere, I suspect that email filters or a proxy or some other security-minded widget is to blame. I wonder if our decrepit global messaging systems isn't due for a complete overhaul.
