kid's programs

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2011.03.09

Toronto has a comprehensive program for kid's activities, many of which are free for the parents. The problem is signing up.

We got ready at 07:00 this morning, as instructed, and started to attempt to log in. Right away we got messages saying that there were too many sessions and that we'd have to try again. A first in my experience with ye olde intertubes, but I can understand if the city's parks & recreation department didn't have unlimited computing funds at their disposal.

In due course I managed to sign in and had set up a 'cart' with a bunch of courses that Mari was interested in over the Spring and Summer. Then she managed to sign in from her laptop and .. the cart was corrupted. D'oh!

With much cursing, I managed to correct it all and the boy is now signed up for swimming, day camps, and jazz classes. That oughta keep him out of Mari's hair!

rand()m quote

If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until you can hardly bear to look at it. A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.
