cycling photo contest

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Oakville, 2010.11.28

So, I didn't win the cycling-related photo contest I entered. With good reason!

There were, quite simply, much better entries. Such as the winner. And all of the runners up. Well it's all good, I had fun viewing all the fine work submitted. Thanks to EcoVelo for putting it on, and making such a quality cycling-related blog.

I shouldn't have been surprised that my humble effort wasn't in the running. After all, I failed in my attempt to watch the Grey Cup final today because I couldn't sort out how to find the coverage on the multi-hundred TV here in the house in Oakville. Ah, ya.

rand()m quote

In the wake of 9/11, we [in America] have made the decision as a society that we can never again create something in which we can take pride, for fear that someone will destroy it. Moreover, we must suppress any trace of individualism, lest someone have the desire to rise above the bland sameness that protects us. I have, alas, no idea how to recapture our courage.
